The objective of OSTEON was to experiment with the concept of collaborative hypermedia in the development of an Orthopaedic Study Syllabus for Postgraduate Orthopaedic Trainees' preparing for the RCPSC Examination in Canada. OSTEON originally used MOODLE (Modular Object Oriented Dynamic Learning Environment), a powerful Learning Management System with useful tools for the creation of a collaborative hypermedia resource.

We have moved our development efforts on to Orthopaedia.com which harnesses the power of wiki technology to build on development of a collaborative orthopaedic knowledgebase.
